A sensorized shoe was created in order to avoid complications in neuropathic patients at high risk of ulceration or suffering from Charcot.
8 temperature sensors (5 on the sole and 3 on the back) have been inserted in the part below the sole of the foot and in the dorsal part.
The temperature values are collected by smart devices at least twice a day.
The temperatures are stored 30 min after wearing the shoe (to allow an adjustment of the foot temperature) and during the day. In order to carry out this operation, that is, to understand when the shoe is worn and removed, the electronics are also equipped with accelerometers capable of perceiving movement.
