Autonomous Guided Vehicles (AGVs) are specialized mobile robots that operate mainly as autonomous transport systems within modified environments. The main limitation of AGV technology is its lack of flexibility and standardization.

A scalable and flexible ad hoc solution was designed that allows the mobile platform to move in a partially structured environment through reference buoys, without changing the layout of the plant.

IDEA was responsible for the development, implementation and testing of a localization algorithm by adopting the software development environment such as Microsoft Robotics Developer Studio.
