Automation and Quality

Our Inspection Station Takes a Leap Forward with the Jarvis Project

In the plastic molding sector, maintaining flawless aesthetic and functional standards is not just a goal, but a fundamental requirement to remain competitive. We know very well that an efficient end-of-line is the beating heart of a smooth production process.

For this reason, we are proud to announce a major evolution of our Inspection and Quality Control Station with Cobot: the system has recently been optimized thanks to the integration of the advanced tools from the Jarvis Project.

What has changed with the Jarvis Project tools?

Our automated station – which already operated directly downstream of the press, sorting parts via machine vision and collaborative robotics – has received a significant technological “boost.”

Integrating the development and analysis tools from the Jarvis Project has allowed us to optimize the machine’s control logic, making it even smarter, more reactive, and more precise. Specifically, this implementation has led to:

  • Enhanced Optical Processing: the response times between the high-resolution 360° scan and the system’s decision have been further reduced. The cameras identify micro-defects (burrs, scratches, sink marks) with unprecedented confidence levels and speed.

  • Smoother Cobot Handling: the Jarvis tools have allowed us to refine the trajectories and gripping times of the collaborative arm, making rejection (KO) and palletization (OK) operations even smoother and safer for delicate parts.

  • Optimized Data and Recipe Management: setting tolerances and changing formats for different batches are now much more intuitive for the operator, ensuring exceptional adaptability to production variations.

Proven in the Field: The GERMANPLAST Pilot

To validate the true potential of these upgrades, the Jarvis-optimized station has been successfully implemented at GERMANPLAST, our official pilot facility for this project.

Operating directly on their active production lines, the system has proven its reliability and efficiency in a high-volume, real-world manufacturing environment. This successful pilot deployment confirmed the tangible benefits of the new integration, allowing GERMANPLAST to achieve unprecedented quality control standards right out of the press.

Zero Defects, Maximum Efficiency

The result of this optimization is an end-of-line that works at 100% of its potential. The machine continues to guarantee the Zero Defect principle, relieving operators from the tedious and repetitive tasks of manual visual inspection and drastically reducing false rejects or the risk of releasing non-compliant batches into the market.

Whether dealing with matte, glossy, or embossed finishes, the integrated system instantly decides the fate of the newly molded part: into the scrap bin if defective, or directly onto the pallet if perfect.
